CHAPTER 5 Part 1

CHRISTMAS

The snow was falling outside the Dewdrop household as Boo just got done hanging the last holiday decoration. Christmas was her favorite time of year and her favorite part was when Daddy Dewdrop would gather the family around to tell the Pixie History of Christmas. This year was even more special as this would be the first time Roo would hear the story. "OK Daddy," Boo said, "It's time?" as she led little Roo into the room where the family held the tradition of telling the tale. Boo cuddled up with Daisy and Daddy sat Roo onto his lap and began, "2,000 years ago, a miracle most marvelous occurred. A very special baby human was born, requiring a lot of help from all the Angels. Now, with all the Angels busy, God created us, the Pixies, to help out with all the miracles in nature that the Angels could not take care of. Although Pixies have nothing to do with humans, we performed such miracles as calling leaves out of trees and putting color in all the flowers. Ever since, Angels and Pixies have been the best of friends. So if you girls are ever in need of a miracle, remember you can always call on an Angel, your mother and I still do."

Boo always felt a sense of warmth in her heart after hearing the story, Roo on the other hand, gave a big yawn, signaling it was time for bed. So Daddy took the girls and tucked them in.
